Course Instructions

Champions School of Real EstateĀ® has proudly partnered with Hondros College to offer our Loan Originator and Appraiser students the option of completing their courses in a guided online format. These courses align with rules and regulations set by the NMLS and the TALCB and will allow you to complete the required education hours from your home or office using the Hondros online system. If you have any questions, please contact us at your convenience.

Please Note - These instructions refer specifically to any courses taken via the Hondros online system for Loan or Appraisal courses.

What to Expect from the Online Method

Online courses are timed and delivered completely online without the use of any textbooks. Course material is presented in online modules along with multiple choice quizzes and or exams. Students must be able to access the internet via a web browser to take this course format. This method is ideal for people who cannot attend class at a campus but would still prefer a more guided learning experience.

Steps to Completing Online Loan Courses

Hondros Loan courses are Instructor-led and require students to adhere to a specific start and end date. Courses include a series of required activities, including exams, that must be completed in order to receive credit for the course. You can work at your own pace but new modules will become available daily throughout your access window so you can't start certain modules until they are unlocked.

Step 1 - Acquire your NMLS ID
You must have a unique NMLS ID available before the class session ends. This is required to ensure that you get credit for completing the course. To obtain an NMLS ID, visit the NMLS website or contact the NMLS directly.
Step 2 - Access Your Course through the Hondros Portal
When you are ready to work on your Loan course, you will need to navigate to the Hondros website and log into your Hondros account.
Step 3 - Use Hondros Discussion Forums
You will have access to your instructor and other students throughout your class session in the discussion forums. If you have questions related to the material, the discussion forums are your best resource.
Step 4 - Complete Required Reading and Activities

When you access your course, you will be able to access modules and activities that have already unlocked. Complete each of these required activities and be sure to leave yourself enough time to complete everything prior to the end of your class session. It is recommended that you save or print the reading assignments for each chapter to use them for ongoing reference after the class ends.

Steps to Completing Online Appraisal Courses

Hondros Appraisal courses are completely self-paced and include a series of timed modules and activities that you will need to complete in order to pass the course. You can start and stop at any time but credit will not be issued for the course until all of the modules have been completed.

When you are ready to work on your Appraisal course, you will need to navigate to the McKissock website and log into your McKissock account.
Step 2 - Complete Required Reading and Activities
