Mandatory Continuing Education (MCE)

Champions School of Real Estate Catalog Stay current with the latest technology, trends in the real estate market, and real estate laws with our top-of-the-line Texas real estate MCE courses. Make sure you know how the industry is changing, what you need to do to stay current, and satisfy your MCE requirement today!

MCE Requirements:
  • Licensees must complete 15 hours of MCE courses including 3 hours of legal and 3 hours of ethics.
  • MCE must be taken every 2 years after SAE requirements are satisfied.
TREC MCE Policies

Online-correspondence courses not completed before the end of the month your license expires will be considered late and the licensee will be subject to late fees and penalties. All MCE class credit will be reported to TREC the next business day after completion.

EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2015 - **PLEASE READ**

If the Texas Real Estate Commission's records do not show that you have completed your continuing education (CE) at the time you submit your renewal application, you must pay a $200 CE deferral fee, or renew in INACTIVE status. Paying the deferral fee will allow you to continue to be active in real estate activities and give you an additional 60 days from your expiration date to complete your CE.

24 HOUR MCE RULE - **PLEASE READ**

Online students must wait 24 hours after registration before the system will allow you to start the exam. Students will be able to download the textbook and take the homework but they must wait for the 24-hour period to expire before taking the exam.


TREC's New Online Renewal System - All renewals should be done online through the Texas Real Estate Commission's new online registration system. You can register and renew through their "My License" system at any time.

ABOUT THIS COURSE:

Upon completion of this Texas real estate MCE course, the student will be able to recall changes in the Real Estate License Act in 2011, recognize other legislative changes, such as those affecting foreclosure procedure, explain changes in the Texas Timeshare Act, discuss the Line of Credit Draw Procedure, list finance code changes, defend new solicitation rules, identify common mistakes made in completing contractual forms and distinguish between former and revised contractual forms. 6-Hr Broker Responsibility

ABOUT THIS COURSE:

This real estate course will address the regulatory aspects of the management, operation and supervision of a real estate brokerage firm in Texas. The course provides an understanding and working knowledge of the law of agency, planning and organization of business entities, requirements for written policies and procedures, records retention and control, advertising, recruitment and training of agents, and the anatomy of a complaint filed with Texas Real Estate Commission TREC).

WHO MUST TAKE THIS COURSE?

Section 535.2 of the TREC Rules requires a broker who sponsors salespersons, a designated broker of a business entity, and a licensee who is a delegated supervisor of one or more licensees (for 6 months or more during the supervisor’s current license period), to complete this 6-hour broker responsibility course to renew a license. Any licensee may take this course, which counts for six hours of MCE elective credit. Additionally, a sponsoring broker may, by policy, require certain licensees and employees to take this course.
