Take an Online Course?
NOTE: The below online description does not apply to our instructor-led online courses for Loan Origination and Appraisal. Click here for information on the instructor-led online.
Why Take an Online Course?
Online courses are a simple way to receive credit for your coursework on your own time and at your own pace. We refer to our online coursework as Online-Correspondence because students are allowed to review the course material at their own pace before taking a series of Homewok Quizzes and Exams online (all exams for Real Estate QE & SAE courses are Proctored in the campus or online using our Live Broadcast system).
How Do I Review the Class Materials?
Like the classroom courses, online-correspondence courses require the use of a textbook to complete. Many courses offered at Champions School of Real Estate include an online textbook in pdf format. If a class is in a section marked as "Shipping/Pickup Required," the textbook must be shipped or picked up from a campus for use with an online course. In other words, there is no online version of the textbook available. In order to recieve a textbook, simply select "standard shipping" (a Fedex Overnight Shipping option is also available) or "pick up from campus" for each course during checkout. The textbook will be shipped out the next business day or available for pickup from your nearest campus.
How Does it Work?
Real Estate QE/SAE Courses (30-Hours) - Per TREC guidelines, these self-paced, online courses include a series of short Topic Quizzes and scenario questions that must be passed with a 100% before taking a proctored exam.
Proctored Exams - Upon completion of the topic quizzes, students will be able to select a time to have their exam proctored using our Live Broadcast system (a Webcam is Required). Students will receive an automated email once a time has been selected. Just before a session is scheduled to take place, students may click the link in the automated email to log into the Proctoring session and verify their ID with the proctor and have the exam unlocked. The webcam must remain on for the duration of the exam. Each proctor session is two hours long and progress is saved after each set of 10 questions. If an exam is not completed during the alotted time, a new session will need to be scheduled in order to finish.
Please Note - If an exam is failed twice, a $50 retake fee is required in order to retake the course from the beginning and each exam attempt will include a different set of questions.
All Other Online Courses - Other online courses consist of homework exercises and an exam (not proctored). Upon completion of the exam, you will receive your certificate. All homework and exams taken online are multiple choice and require a 70% passing grade. While the homework will have all questions presented on one page, at the top and bottom of the page is a "Save My Place" button which allows you to save all of the questions you have answered.
The exams are delivered in 10 question sets with validation questions asked between each set. You will be given 45 seconds to answer a question based on the information that is associated with your Champions account. If you miss two questions in a row, your exam will be locked and you must contact a campus to have the exam unlocked (Please Note: Campuses are not open on Sunday). Your progress will be automatically saved after you successfully complete each set of 10 questions and then answer a validation question. The system will remember what you have already answered and start you at the next unanswered question the next time you choose to continue the exam.
What if I Fail a Course?
If taking a Real Estate QE or SAE course (with Proctored Exams), a $50 retake fee is required upon failing an exam twice and the course must be retaken from the beginning (Please note that each exam attempt includes a different set of questions). For all other online courses, no retake fee is required and the exam may be retaken as many times as necessary to complete the course.
