Texas Appraisal License Step 2
Submit 75 hours of Evaluation and application for an Appraiser Trainee to the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board.

Once you have completed Appraisal 1, Appraisal 2 and USPAP at Champions, you will now need to submit your education and Application for Approval as an Appraiser Trainee to TALCB in the "My License" system on the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board’s website at https://mylicense.state.tx.us. Click on "Register HERE to set up a user ID and password" and follow the steps to create an account. Once an account is created you will apply for a new license. The application fee for a Appraiser Trainee license is $75.

An Appraiser trainee applicant must have a sponsoring certified appraiser. The application must be completed and signed by the appraiser trainee applicant AND by each sponsoring certified appraiser. While a trainee is not limited to a specific number of sponsors, a sponsor may not sponsor more than three trainees at one time.

Texas Appraisal License Step 3
Complete your 2000 hours of experience over a minimum of a 12-month period.

The Texas Appraiser’s Licensing Certification Board (TALCB) requires that you legally complete 2000 hours of experience supported by written reports prior to receiving your license.  You must be sponsored and supervised by a Certified Appraiser ($75 Trainee application fee to TALCB).  This generally equates to 250-300 residential appraisals.  If you qualify under the new licensing requirements, you may take longer than 12 months.

Texas Appraisal License Step 4
Submit your Licensed Appraiser Application to TALCB.

Submit completed application, experience log, signed affidavit and $235 application fee to the TALCB. Note: You must be at least 18 years of age and a legal resident of Texas for at least 60 days immediately before filing your application. Applications are located at www.talcb.state.tx.us.
