Information about the course format

Our CD-Rom based courses work like a mix between correspondence course and an online course. They work completely free of an internet connection but do require computer. When you insert the CD-Rom into a computer you simply read the pdf file of the coursework like you would in our online version but without the online exams. The exams in our CD-Rom courses work like correspondence courses. You print out the scantron form from the CD-Rom and fill out the homework and for the exam you either come into one of our testing centers or take the exam in front of a third party proctor at a local library.

How to change your schedule or format

A CD-Rom course can be taken at any time and from any place. The material is downloaded from the CD-Rom and everything but the exam completed at your computer. You can change the format of your course, for example from classroom to CD-Rom, for a $35 transfer fee. Contact a campus Career Counselor for more information on this format.

What to Expect

With a CD-Rom course you are learning on your own schedule and pace. Our material will give you all of the information you need to learn but it is dependant on you learning it. The benefits are that you can start and stop whenever you want and you can be anywhere there is a computer with a CD-Rom drive. Be sure to plan your schedule accordingly and do not spend too much time the first day and get burnt out. Remember if you are taking a 30-hour course, you should look at spending at least 30 hours with the material.

Who should take this format

CD-Rom formats are ideal for people who may not always have access to an internet connection. You can work from any computer with a CD-Rom drive. This format also works well for people in more rural areas that may not be able to get to one of our classroom location.
